The St. Louis Magic House is a top notch family attraction with a 30-year history of entertaining kids with educational displays. In fact, the Magic House is so much fun, kids may not even realize they’re learning.

The Magic House has areas geared for kids from babies to middle schoolers. Kids under five rule in “Little Bit of Magic,” an area off limits to big kids. Younger school aged kids will love the Children’s Village–a miniature community under the Magic House’s roof with a house, a library, a grocery store, a fishing hole, a pizza parlor, and new this summer: a Children’s Hospital.

The Children’s Village Hospital, sponsored by no other than St. Louis Children’s Hospital, has a baby nursery with dolls, blankets, bottles and diapers. Kids can dress up in scrubs and lab coats as they pretend to give the newborn dolls checkups.

Older kids will enjoy the science experiments in the original part of the Magic House. There kids can play. This is also where the giant static electricity machine is located–guaranteed hair raising fun! Several exhibits in the “new” addition are also targeted to older kids: check out the “Can You Solve the Mystery” area on the top floor, and the miniature Oval Office down in the “Star Spangled Center.”

The Magic House has been recognized by Nickelodeon, Orbitz, FamilyFun magazine and Zagat, which named The Magic House the nation’s top family attraction in “child appeal.”

For more info: the Magic House is located at 516 S. Kirkwood Rd, St. Louis, MO. Admission is $8.75 for everyone over 1 year old. Go to the Magic House website for driving directions and hours of operation, which change with the season.
